As many of you know, the days following the Hull Roundheads kit launch less than two weeks ago have prompted a lot of media attention and coverage for us – all in reaction to some stupid but sadly typical homophobic trolling. The most recent and brilliant piece about it all appeared on SkySports on 17th May to mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
To mark IDAHOT ourselves and specifically to thank all of our IGR brothers-in-scrums for the terrific support and love they’ve shown (not only in the recent days but since we began), we want to invite any and every team that can make it to join us at our first birthday celebrations, on August 31st, in the very first Humber 7s tournament. We’ve seen huge support from the local rugby community in our region too, and we want this event to bring together players from different communities, near and far, to demonstrate the true meaning of inclusivity in rugby and to demonstrate our unity against homophobia in sport.
If you can make it, we’d love to have you here (and show you a little of why this place became UK City of Culture too). So to register your interest, or just to get more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us on the Hull Roundheads Facebook page.
With huge love and pride,
Chair of the Hull Roundheads
